Jesus said Go! But go where?

Jesus said GO! But go where?

Luke and Maudie Watson know.

Last month Luke and Maudie Watson joined us for worship and shared with us their call and vision to plant a church in the Vancouver area. They are so excited and can’t wait to start. I’m thrilled that River Bend will be joining their team of supporters. Luke and Maudie will need our prayers and financial help as they reach people for Christ. If you would like to learn more about their plans, send Luke and Maudie an email at I know they would love to talk to you and answer your questions.

Be Thankful – Church family picnic, November 22

Because of COVID, we are taking our Thanksgiving dinner outdoors and turning it into a picnic. The Gibson’s and the Gandy’s have graciously opened up their property in Sealy to allow us to have a great time of fellowship, including family games, a hay maze, hay rides and fishing.  The picnic style meal will be provided by Angel’s catering, so there is no need to bring food items from home. Also, we will have plenty of room to spread out our tables so you can continue to social distance.

Games, fellowship, and fishing start at 4:00 pm, and the dinner will start at 5:00 pm. Watch for maps, directions, and the River Bend Turkey Challenge in your weekly emails.

Do you know Kevin and Erin Coleman?  Maybe you know their children, Caitlin and Lucas?

Kevin attended River Bend as a child and a teenager. It was here that He felt God’s call into the ministry. River Bend had the great pleasure of licensing Kevin into the gospel ministry in 2009.  Kevin attended Ouachita Baptist University where he earned his B.A. in Biblical Studies and then earned an M. Div. in Christian Ministry at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Kevin is currently serving as the Residential Director at the Brookwood Community in Brookshire. Previously he served as the Associate Pastor of Creek Side Community Church in Katy in 2014-2015 and the Associate Pastor at Orchard Hill Baptist Church in Dallas from 2013-2014.

Our Personal Committee asked Kevin if he would be willing to serve as our Associate Pastor in a volunteer capacity, and Kevin graciously accepted. We are looking forward to all the ways Kevin will be able to help us. His first assignment is to guide our church through a “Read your Bible through in a year” campaign starting in January. Kevin will also help us minister to young families through our Sunday Morning Bible Study.

Welcome aboard Kevin, Erin, Caitlin, and Lucas we are excited to see how God grows you.
