Exciting Youth News!
Since March, the Youth Minister Search Committee has been praying, collecting resumes, and interviewing potential candidates for our Youth Minister position. At the end of November, the Search Committee shared the conclusion of their search with the Personnel Committee, and both groups are in agreement to present Jeremiah Blocker, our current Interim Youth Minster, to become our Youth Minister for River Bend.
Since Jeremiah has been with us since August, many of you have met him or heard him speak. If you haven’t, we want to give you that opportunity.
On Sunday, December 27th, Jeremiah preached during our worship service. If you were not present, you can go to River Bend’s Facebook page and watch it. On Sunday, January 3rd, Jeremiah will share his testimony and his call to the gospel ministry during our worship service. Following the service there will be a meet and greet with a question and answer time in the youth building. Please come meet Jeremiah, you will discover him to be a humble young man who loves to teach God’s Word.
On Wednesday, January 6th, there will be a special meeting for youth and youth parents starting at 6:30 pm in the Ground Zero youth building. During this meeting Jeremiah will lead a short Bible study, give his testimony and talk about his call to the gospel ministry. There will also be a question and answer time.
On Sunday, January 10th, we will have a ballot vote during the worship service to call Jeremiah as our Youth Minister.
What an exciting time. I want to thank the Youth Search Committee for all of their effort, time and prayers.

Ordaining men to serve as deacons is important for churches, especially at River Bend, since our deacons serve and help care for our members. Each deacon is assigned church families they stay in contact with, pray for and make visits when needed.
On Sunday, January 3rd, at 6:00 pm we will ordain Don Edgar, Jarrett Gandy, and David Peck.
Due to Covid, this service will be a little different than other ordination services, but it will maintain its meaning and significance. If you are not able to attend in person you can join us on Facebook live.
